Title: DHCP & DNS question
Post by: Chuck on October 05, 2001, 12:31:20 AM
Hello everyone.  I've been using E-Smith for about a month now and seems like a great product.  But I have one silly, stupid, etc... question about DHCP and DNS.  I have DHCP setup and working fine, at least from what I can tell.  The problem is, I can't ping any of the other PCs on my home network (there are 2 more) by name.  I looked in the hosts file on the server and none of my PCs (except the server) are listed.  I thought that when a PC picked up a DHCP lease, it's name was registered in DNS.  Is that not the case?  I'd like to have local name resolution working if I can.
Thanks for any advice.
  Chuck
