Title: Clamav Installation

I want to upgrade the clamav to 81 version how do you install this , I have 80 now, everytime I need to make a change I have to hire someone to do it, $ 200.00 everytime. I getting fed up and want to to myself.

I have downloaded the file (81) now how do I get it into the server, I am great with desktops and workstations but server still learning...

just do as it says here

Install/Upgrade can be performed via:

[root@e-smith]# wget -N http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/downloads/AntiVirus/antivirus_install.sh

[root@e-smith]# sh antivirus_install.sh
just type it and hit enter
remember to be root

Also make sure to check:

How come when I reboot the server, when it scrolls down to Clamav at the right instead of the message saying "OK" it reads "Disabled"

Just go to your sme server box
and push alt and f2 then you have to log in as admin and your password then you are root and then you write the line as it says here
wget -N http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/downloads/AntiVirus/antivirus_install.sh

add after that this line
sh antivirus_install.sh
adn push enter
now it begin the install from knuddis server and contribs.org
i hope sorry but i am not a pro so maybe it fails

you have to go to server admin at your windows box and put it to woork from there in the left panel you know

by the way what version are you using

they tell me that this is Redhat 7.3 if that makes sense sme 6.0.1

i followed your instructions , the server tells me the antivirus is installed, which it is, but I checked the viewlog files and it tells me that its outdated it should =level 4 but it is currently level=3, also when I press save after changing configuration the message I get above is "Erros While Updating System Configuration Occurred" So Thats why I wanted to up date to the new 81 from 80 version. My server is reporting viruses how does clamav get rid of them any idea? Are they quarantined then disposed of ?

If I download that will it overwrite all the settings of the old version will it create problems with the old settings.

i realy dont know but i tried to let gfi sent me som virus mail and every got cought in the scanner and i just deleted them

by the way i use 2 servers
1 for testing
1 for production server only for mail 1 nic only

How do you Uninstall the Antivirus, I think I will do this Uninstall ,Then Install the new one does that make sense ??

just
in sme box consol
rpm -e (and here your clamfileline exactly as it is)
and enter

the virusfile is at if you got virus that is cought
/var/spool/amavis-ng/quarantine
