Title: Adding extra applications
Post by: ronald1969 on January 31, 2005, 09:27:41 PM
Hello there,

I'm new to linux, but got the SME Server up and running.
Now I need 2 extra applications, first I want a virusscanner and second  I want to be able to control what user(s) may access the internet and what user(s) may not.

Can anybody tell me what I need, how to install it and how to configure it.

Thanks Ronald

Take a look at Jesper Knudsen's web under "HowTo" and you will find the stuff you'r asking for.
http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/
And it's a very god step by step installation instruction there.

Installation is easy:
Download the rpm's needed and run :
Code: [Select]
rpm -Uvh rpmfilename
And some contributions has made "panels" to your server web interface...

And I would urge you to read the manual:
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/bobk/ in many various document file format.

And also use the search function in the top left corner ;-)
