Title: DYNDNS and server behind router - help
Post by: slewis1972 on February 01, 2005, 10:25:48 PM
Ok - need to get a ip pumped to DYNDNS but there is only 1 nic in the server and its behind a firewall - NEgear WRG614 router.

Server in server only mode and has a static ip of 192.168.0.19

So - need a client that can get a external ip and update it to dyndns.

Can anyone suggest one with clear insructions as so far found none that are clear or can do what I want

Any help appreciated

Scott

DDclient is touted as being able to do this by either checking the status page of your router or an external site to check your "real" Ip address and passing this on to your DYNDNS account.

I have a similar set-up (albeit with an alcatel router) but have been unsuccessful.  I would love to see a how-to on this from someone with a bit more nous than me.
Title: already in WRG614

The WRG614 already has a dyndns panel in it called Dynamic DNS.
-Login to the WRG614 with it's address (probably 192.168.0.1)
-type in your user/pass
-configure the panel
