I am still wondering how to get the SATA drives to work in this Dell - the bios doesn't have an option for them to be emulating IDE drives -
can we use a different modules.cgz and point to it on the install or do we need to replace it on the CD?
Any kind of help will be appreciated - thanks
I thought the new kernel in 6.5.2 beta supported SATA drives.

SATA works well under new 2.4 kernel versions (2.4.27+)

6.5ß uses - kernel-2.4.20-18.7.i386.rpm
...i.o.w. unless your Motherboard supplies compatibility mode, as you said your Dell doesn't, you are out of luck - yet.
You may want to upgrade your kernel yourself:

Please follow the 6.5ß dicussion where ShadLords says:
Unless the stock RH kernel supports SATA then no we don't support that yet.
When we move to RHEL4/CentOS4 then the support should be there.
