Hi - just installed 4.1.2 and have not been asked for a password ... makes it a little hard to log in. Cnnot find a reference to a default password so would appeciate being told how to log intothesystem so I can set it up.

This sounds very much like one of the faulty CDs distributed by Linux Format Magazine... if so, take a look at http://www.e-smith.org/article.php3&mode=threaded&order=0 for the fix...

Thanksfor the help - been playing around with it tonight. Quite impressed (classic anglo-nz understatement. um - actually not too bad ....) so am now tempted to down load the latest version.

I have been aware off e-smith for quite some time and am glad of the opportunity to tyr it out via the Linux format cd. If I was a little bit smarter (there goes that understaement again ;-) I would have thougt to search under 'Linux Format'.

ANyway - ta for the help.
