Title: Scan outgoing e-mail
Post by: kruhm on February 17, 2005, 01:36:57 PM
Is there a problem with ClamAV on outgoing mail?

For my second installation in a row i've had a problem with scanning outgoing mail. At first, the scan was taking too long slowing Fetchmail down and causing it to time out (Query status=2 (SOCKET) and causing multiple messages (probably because Fetchmail terminated early and didn't have a chance to delete the messages).

So I set Scan outgoing e-mail to "No." That fixed the socket problem and fetches that were taking 3-5 minutes now last about 15 seconds max. But now both my Antivirus stats and Spam stats come back with a daily report full of 0's as in no messages were processed.

Basically, turning off scanning of outgoing e-mail turns off Antivirus scan and Spam scan.

Any suggestions?

thanxs,
dak

Hi Dak,

Which version are you using of SME ?
Where did you download the AV/SPAM tools from ?

SME Server 6.0.1-01
Knuddi's scripts.

The problem seems to coincide with the ClamAV update to version 0.82 but maybe i'm imagining the relationship.
