Title: new install Code: Bad EIP Value?
Post by: voteforpedro on February 21, 2005, 01:33:16 AM
Trying to install SME 6.01 but as soon as it starts to format the drive I get this error:

"Code: Bad EIP Value
<0> Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interupt handler!
In interrupt handler - not syncing."

I am installing to:
P3 - 733
256k RAM
2 x brand new WD 250gb hard drives

Installing as Dual Drive w/ software Raid

I did install additional stick of 128k RAM, but that's basically it, other than new hard drives.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Have you turned off Plug and Play in the BIOS?  This is known to cause this error if left on.

Hi - Thanks for the suggestion. Plug and Play was already turned off.
