Title: No more recursive clients Problem
Post by: byte on February 21, 2005, 04:21:04 PM
Hi,

Does any one know why I get these in my messages, only started this morning...

Feb 21 07:02:40 test named[2441]: client x.x.x.x#1510: no more recursive clients: quota reached

I have had quite alot but none since 10am this morning, could this be a dns issue?

Thanks for any pointers

If you have named running on your system, either you have modified it, or it is an old version. SME server these days uses djbdns for name resolution, not bind (named).

DO you have a very large network? The default number of recursive clients handled by named is 1000.

No modifying...

Is an old version, I'm running 5.6 (I know, will soon be on 6.5 when stable version out)

Network size has 40 pc's...

My guess is that error happened due to our internet being some what intermitent and the clients machine had spampal so when spampal went to check agianst all the different databases it couldnt...

This morning I dont have those error(s) and didnt previously

Thanks for replying back!
