Title: Backup/restore of mail, only; possible or not?

I have a hacked SME 6.01 and want to move all mail to a new "patched up" and uncompromised 6.01.
Is it somehow possible to backup/restore (or copy) email only?
Where are the actual email files located?
Any and all advise is highly approciated.

All your user accounts emails are located under /home/e-smith/files/users/

Out of interest, how did you got hacked?

Don´t know excactly how we were hacked, but probably because I used an old SME 5.6 ...
Anuway, I ended up using WinSCP via ssh to copy mail files to a workstation and then to the new server, which turned out to work fine, with the exeption of subfolders  ...
