I stumbled across SME on www.Distrowatch.com
On the 25th of feb. they have under "latest distributions" posted SME 7.0 Alpha 3 and a link to Ibiblio. how stable is this release ? can it work for test enviroment or is it still too buggy to work for normal users?
I know there is a 6.5 rc out but not the 7.0 !!

Could you post a link to Charlie's post in devinfo Digest - I can't google it?

I've run it on my test machine.
I'm not that convinced yet ... but then again I'm only going on first impressions.
I don't like what they have done with webmail ... got rid of calendar (why??) it's a well used option in my book.
Have to check out a few more things soon.
