Title: Help for an upgrade.
Post by: ZiSeB on March 02, 2005, 04:27:53 PM
Hello!

I'm a beginner using SME5.6.
My problem today is the following. I'm using CLAMAV0.80 and I want to upgrade it to 0.83. I've only found clamav0.83 for SME 6.xx but not for 5.6.
I've two solution :
1) To upgrade SME5.6 to SME 6.01... not so easy for me.
2 ) To upgrade clamav0.80 to 0.83. But I don't know how I can do it.
If someone have an idea... I need help.

Thanks,

Ziseb

Actually, if I'm correct, boot from 6.X and you will be asked if you want to perform an upgrade if a previous system is installed.

2 ) To upgrade clamav0.80 to 0.83. But I don't know how I can do it.

Download whatever version of clamav you want to install.  Issue the command rpm -Uvh clamavXXXXXX.  the RPM command is the package manager, the -Uvh says, Upgrade, be verbose, and show hash marks to show progress.  I home this helps!

If someone have an idea... I need help.

Thanks, I'm going to try this. But I want to be sure that the upgrade won't change my config files. Could you confirm this?
