I'm looking to setup SME Server 6.5 as File Server on my LAN. I want it to be Domain Controller that allows Windows 98, 2000, and XP to login to it, and see drive mappings and have a roaming profile also such as a MS 2003 Server would do.
To do this, do I have to tweak around with the smb.conf file?
And if I do, does anyone have smb.conf file with this already setup or similar to it that I can follow from? Or is there way I can do it with out messing with smb.conf file in Server-Manager that I might be over looking?
Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Hey arrowrom, I use 6.0.1 (custom) at home as a Domain controller and I have not had to do anything to the smb.conf file directly. I was able to configure everything through the management i/f.
As to drive mappings, I have editted the netlogon.bat manually to set up network mappings.
Roaming profiles has its own topic, try this

Hope this is useful. :-)
