Hallo!
We're using SME 6.01 (w/latest update script) and received the above error message, when I tried to flag messages as wanted/unwanted etc. w/Thunderbird.
We use Thunderbird, Outlook and Outlook Express and this may perhaps be part of the problem?
Any advice highly appreciated.

are you saying the message
E-mail error: Max. number of different custom flags exceeded
pops up in thunderbird or in a log file ?
when you say you're using multiple clients, is it to a single mail a/c ? eg sometime use outlook to access mail for a/c johndoe and at other times use thunderbird to open johndoe ?
are you leaving your mails at the server ?
imap or pop ?

I guess my info was a bit limited, but here are some details.
1. We're using imap with all clients.
2. The error message was as a popup through Thunderbird, but reportedly from the server.
3. We're using different clients, but not (necessarily) on the same user at the same time. I believe I'm the only one to access my account from various clients.
I thought that perhaps the various clients use different flags for i.e. unread, read, unwanted, deleted etc. and that the server could only "hold/define" a limited number of flags???
Anyone having experinced something like this?
Best regards,
Terje
