Title: Arg....how to set the servers smtp to comcast
Post by: grattman on March 10, 2005, 08:51:51 PM
Our schools web/mail server sits behind a residential cable modem. Many of our parents use aol/yahoo accounts to communicate with our school.

Unfortunately, those same domains see email coming from our IP and bounce it back. We can overcome this on the client side by setting a comcast account as the smtp. However, when using the web-based horde email, that is not the case.

Is there a way to configure SME 6.01 smtp server to use the comcast account we have set up to send outgoing emails?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Brian

On the email configuration page - set the isp's smtp server to:

smtp.comcast.net

This works for me on my server - which is also behind a comcast router.
