Title: what is SME version 5??

Is SME just e-smith with the Mitel badge or is this a whole new product?

Essentially, that's correct. SME Server v5 is the release that followed e-smith server and gateway 4.1.2. But SME Server v5 has ServiceLink, which *is* a new product -- see
