Title: Hylafax Problems (Modem issues?)
Post by: Marco Ranieri on October 17, 2001, 12:32:13 AM
I'm trying to get Hylafax running on a ESSG 4.1.2 box. I have installed it as per the HOW TO. I installed the Cypheus client on a couple of machines.

Hylafax does not send any faxes, it just sits there. When I issued the "faxstat" command I get (server name and phone number omitted):

HylaFAX scheduler on servername.domainname: Running
Modem ttyS0 (XXX-XXXX): Waiting for modem to come ready

It just stays there, as you can see. The ttyS0 port just sits in an unknown state. According to HylaFax, it should say that it is Running and idle.

Is there a problem with my install? Modem? Help!!!!!!!

Thanks.

Hi,

1. Do you use faxmodem (send only enviroment) or faxgetty.
2. How did you invoke the above deamons?
