Title: Mailing lists - how?
Post by: Josh Turiel on October 17, 2001, 08:01:15 AM
I just started to play with version 5.0 - it's real slick and a nice server in a box product.  The only place it falls short for my purposes is the lack of any mailing list support that I can detect.  I run a small list for a user group board that explodes inbound mail to a special address and sends it out to multiple email accounts in other domains.

I can't see any simple way to do that in e-smith - right now I use Eudora's EIMS server on an old Mac, and simply define the mailing list as a small textfile with carriage returns between each entry.  The address is pointed to the file and blasts e-mails from there.

I'm sure there's a way to do this with qmail that I just haven't puzzled out, but it'd be nicer if e-smith had a mail list manager that was part of the server manager.  But if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be much obliged.

Josh,

Take a look at the e-smith contributed how-tos. There's one there for installing ezmlm.idx by Graeme Robinson.
