Hello Community
Hello Leaders of this Community
For the first: Ive been using the e-smith server since V 3.1 and have seen the progress in work but also the "struggeling in the pre- and post-Mitel period. From my point of view, the comunity should find its way back to the real e-smith-spirit.
For the second I would appreciate german language-support. IFAIK, sudemo (www.sudemo.info) made a custom release of the 6.01 version and offered the custom-files for german language support to the leaders of the community. As he tells on his website, he didnt get any response. - I would like to know, why none of the leaders of this community is interestet in adding german language support to the sme-sever!
Since 2000 i have had a lot of contacts to german people here in the forums. I know, that lots of german Linux-users run Suse or Eisfair (a debian-based server-solution) on their systems because both are well documented and supported in german language.
As -for my opinion - there is a need for german laguage support, I ask the "officials" of the community, why ìt is not implemented yet!
For all german users: You can download the german custom-made iso at www.sme.sudemo.info
Any answer from the leaders appreciated
With regards
Karl W. Mueller

Dietmar (sudemo) had a conversation about this in the devinfo mailing list, which is the correct place for discussions like this.

Speaking only for myself, I'd be delighted to see an SME release with German language support (and other languages too!). But we can't expect our few developers to bend over backwards to make it happen. Someone else needs to do the work, and test it, in a manner that lets it slide easily into the iso, with some assurance that it won't break stuff.

A few people are already working on a German (and other languages as well) dtranslation, read about it here:http://lists.contribs.org/mailman/public/docteam/msg00325.html

Hi!
Dietmar and me, too asked several times for a german forum (like the french one).
I mailed also to staff@contribs.org, but got no reply so far.

Hi,
I have sent a link to my translations of the web-frontend and the server-console to the dev-team now.
With a little hope of integration in the next release...

For all german users: You can download the german custom-made iso at www.sme.sudemo.info
That location is password protected. Hardly the spirit of co-operation we might expect.

kwm,
i'm sorry, but you give not the correct link.
This is the link:

@CharlieBrady: I know that there is a lot of that "spirit" the community would like to have.

berdie and stefan24: if you have already done work for german translation, please go to this Wiki: http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/LanguageTranslationProject and update any information i've left out.
I suggest this should be the "Languages translation project on contribs.org" and all efforts should be concentrated here IF you don't have a better alternative - do you?

Hi Matthias!
Sure we should concentrate at one point for developing,
but I was asking for a german forum for german users here!?

Hi Mathias,
thanks a lot. This is a great help, I have added some points. When the devs answer your question of using of a database for the translations, I will work on it.
Rgds.

I have requested Nuno to add your (Stefan and Dietmar) Email to the translations mailing list: sme-translators@smeos.org. Check the wiki for other news.
