Hello
Has anybody tried Sme server alpha4
I downloaded the iso and have it installed on a test box but it will not allow any ftp access
yes remote access has been enabled
no access by anyone admin or otherwise
thanks to Charlie for the midnight commander being added made it east to check permissions

Well, no wonder the permissions are wrong - you changed them.
Via an unsupported method. Anything you do using midnight commander
from the command line is your own business. If you find a problem
while using the server as it is designed to be used (access via
ftp, samba, http, etc) then that's a different matter.

OK, that's another matter.

Looks like the local network ACLs aren't being set up correctly
for tcpsvd. That's newly touched code.

Run:
runsvctrl 1 /service/ftp
and try logging in again.
This did make FTP work again. It should be fixed in the next alpha release.
