Title: Incoming mail error
Post by: bebran on March 28, 2005, 11:54:44 PM
Hi,

I'm a newbie on Esmith (allthought I've been able to keep my old, trusty P166 running 5.5 for 2½ years without a hitch).
I've just upgraded both HW and OS from 5.5 -> 5.6 -> 6.01.
First I installed 5.5 on the new box, then restored a fresh backup from the old machine. Had to do a seperate dump/restore on my MySQL DBs for PHPNuke websites.
Web and ftp was running OK, so I upgraded to 5.6 and then to 6.01.

Now my IMAP mail accounts are dead! I'm using an external SMTP server to launch outgoing mail - no problem, but all incoming mails are lost. I'm able to send and recieve mails between my local accounts (using horde webmail) but mails from the outside are lost.
When trying to connect with a mailclient to my mail account through IMAP (std port 143), Thunderbird tells me that 'Connection to server mydomain.net timed out.'.

I might have been fiddling around with some settings on the old box (over 2 years ago), but this should work, out of the box??!

Anyone....?

It seems like the server is blocking all IMAP and POP3 traffic from external networks - have I missed anything in the update process - any new features in server manager????

I might have solved the problem.

My router is set up for forwarding mail, web, ftp and DNS services to different IPs.

How can I add more IPs to my network interface?
