Title: Installation drivers on fresh installation
Post by: jdc0730 on April 04, 2005, 03:12:58 AM
I have searched the forums and have been unable to find anything to help me get further than I am.  I am trying to install a fresh copy of SME 6.0.1 to a server that has a motherboard with the FastTrak 378 chipset.  Here is where I am at:

1. Boot from CD-Rom.
2. Hold Left Shift during start.
3. Type "accept dd" for boot.
4. Select "Yes" when asked if I have a driver disk (VFAT).
5. Insert disk, SME responds by loading ftxxx.o.
6. Prompts for "Supplemental Driver Disk".
7. Stuck here.  "Mounting" error.

Things I have tried:
-Alt-2 to get to prompt, unmount /tmp/drivers.
-With a dd'ed drvblock.img (from CD), I get an "Invalid attribute" error (appears to be looking for vfat, found ext2)
-With a vfat disc with appropriate files, I get a "wrong disk" message.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?  I am pulling my hair out.

Gave up and ordered a 3ware 8006 card.  Works like a charm.
