Title: ibay rights on new SME box
Post by: CKConsulting on April 07, 2005, 08:53:13 PM
I just built a new SME 6.01-01 box
-Copied data from Redhat 8.0 server to Windows 2000Pro.
-Rebuilt Redhat box as SME
-Created Ibay and Group
-Used (M$)robocopy to copy data to Ibay
-users can open the file (using ACI, appraisal program)
-When they save it errors out telling me drive might be full or disk is missing.
-The date/time changes on teh file and it saves the changes
- If a user creates a new file that user can RW to it but other users can only R it.

I have "chown a+RWX *" for testing and get the same results.

Any thoughts???

Just Maybe

Are the users setup on the SME box and are they apart of a group. Is the permision for the group to write and read in the ibay settings.  I would check these first.

I rebuilt the box just in case.
Yes rights are set correctly.
I've tryied everyone as well as groups.  With read write access.  I did notice under windows the owner has Full control and the group only has Read Write.
Would this make a differnce?

It looks like MSword files and such work ok.
Its just the program (ACI)It will only let you save the file if you are the owner.  It's like it's not looking at the groups.  This worked fine on Redhat 8.0.
If I log in as the owner all is fine  :hammer:
Can I set a group as owner??

I'm going crazy!!!!!!!
