Title: How to compile on SME 6.0.1
Post by: eldaria on April 09, 2005, 04:36:10 PM
Hi all,
I want to install freeciv server (http://www.freeciv.org)on my SME server, so I can host Civ games.
But there is no compiler installed by deafult.

I have used Debian's apt-get before to install the packages i needed, but wanted to try SME since it is already a complete server.

So how can i get hold of gcc and make for sme server 6.0.1?

Regards,
Brian

I searched for 6.01 dev-tools with that little box in the left-top and found them. (http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/hpe/devtools-6.01/dev-rpms/)

(Yes, that is a link)

Who needs a compiler?

No SME on that list?
I know SME is based on RedHat, but will any RPM from Redhat work?

RedHat 7.3 should work.
