Title: Mounting USB Drive
Post by: irian on April 10, 2005, 03:59:37 PM
SME 6.0.1, USB2 ExternalCase with 200GB Drive.
Unformatted drive.

I followed these instructions:
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/How%20to%20connect%20a%20USB%20Hard%20Disk%20to%20SME%206.0.1-01

When I come to point 3: mount -t auto /dev/sda1 /mnt/backup.

I get this error: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device

What do I need to do to get this working?
Please help.

Martijn

Hi!

Did the line;
"cdrecord --scanbus"

show that it could see your external drive?

Yes it did.

I installed backup2ws and that works like a charm.
For now that is good enough.
I am in one of our offices in Russia now and will leave 2morrow.
I will look into this again later.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
