Title: dns zone exchange question
Post by: contribpsc on April 12, 2005, 11:35:58 PM
Hi there,

The server-manager has on 'Hostnames and addresses' a flag to 'publish globally' a global IP onto an external dns server.
As far as I understand you need to subscribe to a 'service link' from Mitel to use this feature.

I have been looking around quite a bit to see if there was any contrib that would do the same on any or a specific nameserver.

As one need to maintain the local dns services anyhow, it would be very usefull to maintain dns records for the internet servers in a remote nameserver as well.

Does anyone know how to implement such a feature, or, for that matter, any other way to maintain local *and* global names/ip's in a database and publish it to a local *and* external dns-server?
(I have been looking a little into the powerdns dns server (www.powerdns.com) which has a sql back-end, but it seems a bit heavy solution. Specially sinds the SME seems to be prepared for this.)

tnxs!
