Hi,
I am having a problem where people report that they recieve multiple emails from me.
I looked at the SMTP logs and saw that SME was logging all my Outlook details. I saw patterns that demonstrated that people were infact getting two emails.
Why does SME have anything to do with this? The SMTP server I have defined in Outlook is remotely hosted, so i thought it would all route through there...
Any ideas? Can I just disable email on my machine? I never use it locally anyway.

SMTP traffic is captured (to give you a change to catch viruses before they escape into the wild).
You can turn that feature off. Search here for smtp transparent proxy.
If people are getting two copies of mail it must be because you are sending two copies, e.g. by sending to multiple groups.

Or perhaps you have some OE problem, maybe timeouts or the control files are not updating your smtp server to indicate that the message has been downloaded.
