Title: https:// error
Post by: del on April 13, 2005, 11:31:25 PM
Hi All,
Today I tried to access my webshare folder on my SME6.0 server using https and got this message in a pop up window:
"You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and giv them the following information:
Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number."
This happens if I try any https address such as my webmail or twiggi. Can anyone point me in the right direction. They all worked OK last week! Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Del  :-?

hi,
I have tried that and I get missing file argument at the mv command. Anyhow with the help of the howto and winscp I have managed to work it out and it appears to work inside the LAN anyhow. I will try it tomorrow from the outside world. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Regards,
Del :-)

Hi there,

This was a bit of a pain in the ass for me too but the HowTo sure helped me to fix it up. I gather that you are only receiving the error whilst browsing to with Firefox or similar. I have to use IE after a server reinstall which is quite often.

Stick with the HowTo and you'll be fine :-D

Thanks,

Arthur

You can actually delete the certificate in Firefox after a reinstall and you will get no protests.....
