Title: user-password access from internet
Post by: ghost_dog on April 14, 2005, 05:00:01 AM
Hi Foks,
I have a small problems with accessing the user-passsword page over the internet.
When they hit the site initially it redirects to ssl and shows the certificate. Once they accept they get the no permissions error. Is there something I am doing wrong?
I would hope users could change their web mail password over the net.

Thanks in Advance,

Iain Jones

That's not supported by default.
There are two other ways that exist though.
You can create a VPN connection and then access it using the server IP
or
you can install the latest user manager panel from dungog that allows you to enter a specific external IP (or IP's) into the db to allow users to access it directly from Internet.

Using that user panel, you can also put in 0.0.0.0 as the ip address which will open it for everyone on the internet. Though this should not be done !

Here is another suggestion...

If the users accessing your webmail are using just 1 or 2 ISP's, you can give everyone using that ISP access
