Does SME support Serial Ata?.
Because during booting from CD the system Hangup on detecting the Harddisks. The last message is :

Thanks for reading ;-)

Hi....
I the suggestions post... here is the quote listed that might be helpful for you:
"sme 6.5RC1 has some support for SATA & appears to be quite stable even though it is still at Release Candidate stage. sme 7 (alpha 5 under development) does support SATA."

We should very much like to hear about any succes, but don't bet on it!
The problem will not be the drives, but the controller, I'm afraid.
The only controllers I know of that are supported, will be the 3ware cards.
. . But I should love to be proved wrong!
Anyway I just use software RAID on my drives. It reduces hardware cost, with the same failover security.

I had that same problem. Updated the kernel using a contrib from this site. Worked just fine after that.

And it detectcs correctly my Serial Ata interfaces and the HDD'S.
