Title: Stored Email - what is the threat / concern
Post by: dilligaf on April 26, 2005, 07:11:20 PM
Hi,
I am trying to come up with good reasons for the controllers & owners of a business with respect to the risks or possiblities of mail being compromised.
The example is say a 15 user network, (SMEServer / Windows Based PC's / Webmail)
I have good firewall in place, strong passwords, good antivirus etc.
I know as an Administrator I can internally (and externally if I choose)use tools like MC etc to navigate all directories, and read, manipulate, do pretty much whatever I want with files and mail)
When you demonstrate this to an Owner or Controller the response is, Yes you can do that , but who on the outside will, or would even want to do that.
In a nutshell looking for good examples of "what threats exist for stored email and files" (other than virus deleteing etc)
