Anyone else done this yet? I am toying with the idea of replacing my existing RedHat 7.1 webserver with SMEv5 but I don't know if the hardware support is there yet or not. I need this box to be VERY reliable and stable so I want to make sure the hardware drivers and such are there "out of the box" or installable without to much hassle.

Given that SMEv5 "is" redhat 7.1, I'd say it'll install as well as the RedHat did. I've installed it on a Netfinity 3000, an HP Netserver, a Compaq Server and several clones without a hiccup at install time.
The only problem I've had thus far was on our demo laptop, a new PIII IBM Thinkpad. It hung when detecting USB hardware.
I'd say back up your key filesystems and go for it.

Well the reason I ask is that I had to have serveral other drivers from IBM to get the ServRAID 4L card and the 1000MB Nic working and I don't know how well they would install into SME. But what the heck. I'll just give it a shot and find out.
