Title: Are there any updates on the State of the Distro?

Hi

Does anybody have an update on the state of the Distro? What I mean to say is the development team happier and has the project stabilised?

As has been the case for many years now, the next release will be released when it's released and most likely there won't be any big fanfare or projected release date.  So expect to see 6.5 when it hits the mirrors, but as for active development look no farther than Charlie Brady, who has churned out four alpha versions in the last three months!

(i) The new 6.5RC1 appears rock solid. Bugs are being reported and fixed, thanks to Shad Lord and others at contribs.

(ii) Many contributions are being ported quietly to this new version by dedicated souls around the planet.

(iii) Version 7 is moving at a (very) fast pace thanks to Charlie Brady and the crew at SourceForge. Already at alpha 7 (or is it 8?)

(iv) The distro is in a fine shape, thanks to the Development Team and the people paying for this site, whoever they are. We still can communicate, search for knowledge and even complain, its free.

(v) Our servers are running fine,  security is tight, there are no complaints from end-users.

What more can we ask?
