Title: USB interface cards for printers and SME 5.6
Post by: RobF on May 04, 2005, 09:19:55 AM
Hi all,
I'm looking to update a printer for the home network. The present server box is an old beast with a K6-II driving it.  There is no USB interface and of course the printer I want to get requires one.

The question is, if I put a USB interface card into the server, will I be likely to get SME 5.6 to recognise it as a valid printer port. I have searched and read the other posts that state 5.6 can deal with a USB printer, but I'm looking at a situation where the interface is not a native part of the motherboard.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
