Title: VMWare Server
Post by: eiceic on May 05, 2005, 11:08:59 PM
Is this possible?

I have a customer that has a need to run a windows accounting package ISAM database on a samba IBAY.  Is it possible to install the VMWare GSX server with 1 SME Linux guest OS and 15 Windows XP guest OS and then just have stripped down linux clients access the 15 guest XPs via Remote Desktop?

I'm trying to figure a way to mimic a citrix environment but with Linux and still run windows software.

Thanks,

Chris Buechler

Why not to install one Windows in the Terminal server configuration? It almost as good as Citrix for your needs. and price of 15 Windows XP + VMWARE GSX + SME Server (hehe this one is free) will be comparable with Wndows 200x plus 15 CALs. Also hardware requirements will be less for the Terminal Server server.
