Can anyone point me at some recent unison howto for sme6.0.1 ?
I have two SME5.5 servers with the ipSec and unison i-bay synchronisation contributions running on them faultlesly over the internet for a couple of years, but am working on replacing both ends with 6.0.1 boxes.
I haven't found the unison contrib on this site today and the ipSec contrib http://no.longer.valid/mylinks/singlelink.php?cid=94&lid=101 has a v.old e-smith version number.
I still have the 7 rpms from the original i-bay synchronisation contribution (eg. unison-manager-0.2-1.noarch.rpm). Can anyone confirm whether these will probably work on 6.0.1?
Or any advice about a better solution ?
very many thanks, David

Hi David
Do you was able to put rsync for ibays to work on SME6.01-01 ?
I have done this on 5.5... but now.
Thanks

Hi Jader.
Sadly, no. I have been watching threads here about how to configure an OpenVPN tunnel between 2 SME servers, but haven't yet seen a walkthrough simple enough for me to follow.
As and when I can configure that, I imagine the unison / rsync part to actually synchronise the i-bays will be relatively straightforward... :-?

Hey Folks,
Check out
http://dungog.net/sme/backup.php
It integrates with SME's web interface and works like a charm. I got a test running between two servers in my basement. I also have two clients looking at it as an offsite backup option.

You could try Jesper's site, he has written a howto for openvpn - http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/
