Title: Printer Queue will not clear automatically
Post by: bubbers214 on May 31, 2005, 06:34:03 PM
I've searched through these forums trying to find a solution but cannot seem to find one.  When using the default SME print solution I can print to both of the printers that need to be printed to, but the queues will not clear.  I have tried installing CUPS and the main printer that I'm using this server to print to will not print at all.  So I was forced to remove CUPS and use the default solution.  Any ideas on how to get the queue to clear itself?

With the default print system in SME the last 2 jobs are always visible but their status if all was well is usually shown as printed.
You may be aware of this already but there is a contrib that allows you to monitor and control the print q from  server-manager.

Hope this may be of some help.

thanks a lot for your reply, i actually ended up being able to get CUPS working with all my printers, instead of using PPD files which is what i was trying to do initally, i just set everything up as a raw queue and it works beautifully.
