I have had great luck with the out of the box support for PPTP VPN using Windows XP and SME 6.01. The only problem I ever have is when I'm behind an SME server and want to connect to another SME server via VPN -- it works about 75% of the time.
I'm considering installing Open VPN (http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/index.html?frame=http%3A//sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howtos/howto_30.html)
and I had a few questions 1st:
* will OpenVPN knock out my current PPTP VPN functionality on my servers or workstations?
* is it possible to just do a server to server link with my PPTP VPN servers so that I can just keep using PPTP?
Thanks,
Chris Buechler

You can't beat OpenVPN, not only the 100% functionality but also the packet overhead.
1-You can have both VPN's in place, (although OpenVPN is way more secure).
2- Yes, http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/
But I would also suggest looking into OpenVPN client.
