Title: zsync and Alpha 17
Post by: wellsi on June 02, 2005, 10:40:27 AM
For Alpha 17 I tried to use zsync, but failed. A 301 error. Did I get something wrong?

rsync was successful.

[a17]# zsync http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e
-smith/devel/isos/smeserver-7.0alpha17.iso.zsync

...

downloading from http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/devel
/isos/smeserver-7.0alpha17.iso:
##############------ 74.8%bad status code 301

I believe it was the same result that I had some days ago when ysing zsync with alpha16, rsync worked fine.
I thought I must be doing something wrong as it was my first try with zsync.

301 means "permanently moved". IIRC, ibiblio redirects to an ftp URL. zsync obviously doesn't follow the redirect.

Find another mirror which really exports the zsync and iso files via http.
