Title: Setting up ntp
Post by: Spencer Fornaciari on October 31, 2001, 06:33:11 AM
Hey,
I'm trying to setup my e-smith system to be my network time server.  Is this setup by default...if so is it simply availible through my domain name or is there something specific like ntp.mydomain.com or what should I use?  I'm trying to get it to work with Windows XP but it says it has an error synchronizing with my time server no matter what I put.  Thanks.

I have March Server 5.0 installed as a server / gateway.  I cannot access the March server ntp server from inside my network even by ip address.  I also cannot access any external time servers from inside my network.  This worked when I was using my Linksys router for my firewall but not since I replaced the Linksys with a computer running March.  What am I doing wrong?

Regards,
Jon
