Hi all,
I decided to try using Arkeia rather than flexbackup. I installed the arkeia light and esmith-arkeia rpm's from Moonlight computers and configured nightly backups using the server manager panel. I tried installing the Java client (arkjui-5.2.28.zip) on my Windows XP desktop but am hitting problems.
When I run the Arkeia java user interface I get a prompt for a server, username and password. I tried the FQDN of my server with the root user and root password but no luck.
Am I missing something? I tried to find a howto but couldn't see one.
Thanks,
Allan

Arkeia doesn't use your admin or root login ... for the first time just click ok to log in ... then setup a user etc within Arkeia to login from there.
It got me the first time I installed Arkeia
For the server name I just use the IP address.

Tib.

The Java UI logon insists on a server name and userid. I tried root and my normal user logon but neither worked.
Thanks,

Try using admin or root as login without password ... you won't have a password setup yet till you login the first time and set one up.
Also you can use your server IP address or server name in the server ID field.
Even in the user name it is caps sensitive so make sure you type it correctly.
It's been a while since I set mine up and can't remember exactly what I did but I know I didn't have to use a password till I set a password.
