Title: In need of howto/direction on compiling drivers for SME6.0.1
Post by: jester on June 13, 2005, 11:44:07 AM
I've been searching my butt off to find a HowTo/directions on compiling a driver for SME6.0.1.

I'm trying to compile a SLI Megaraid2 driver for my Dell PowerEdge 2800 with a PERC 4e/Di Raid controller.

I found this howto on re-compiling a newer version of an existing driver: http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/Compaq%20Proliant%20DL%20380%20G4%20Installation
But this does not work for a new driver.

Somebody got any suggestions?!

Thanx!
Jester.

Have you checked/read
http://bbcr.uwaterloo.ca/~brecht/servers/docs/PowerEdge-2600/en/Perc4di/Install/redhat.htm#1106032

RedHat 7.3 version would do the "trick"...

OR
ftp://ftp.dell.com/perc4di-rhl73-118f-a08.tar.gz
http://ftp1.us.dell.com/scsi-raid/perc4di-rhl73-118f-a08.tar.gz

Good luck

Thanx ergozd!

I've tried that, but it's no good. I made a typo btw: it should be a PERC 4e/Di controller (already corrected the original msg), and it really needs the megaraid2 drivers i think. Test-installing SME7Alpha19 works and shows it uses the megaraid2 drivers so i figure (but don't know for sure, to much newbie) it needs these...

Any other possibilities?!

Jester.
