Hi There,
Got a 5 year old NT box going out on me . I have worked with SME for a couple of years now, and it has the stuff I need (mainly file services on NT 4 domain).
Would the following box work with 6.0.1, assuming I use IDE instead of SATA drives:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1384806&Tab=0&NoMapp=0
I have a 12-user network, not much horsepower needed.
If you have any other suggestions for a box fire away!
TIA,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
6 months ago i was running SME 6.x on a Pentium 166MMX with 128Mb of ram, and it ran fine. But now i have a AMD K6-2/450 CPU in it now (thanks to a friend) and uped the ram to 320MB, and it is running sweet even processing work units for boinc seti@home.
So what you are wanting to use, all i can say is go for it.

Hi Quail_Linux,
Thanks for the reply... I wasn't really sure about the ability of AMD processors, but didn't expect a problem. I also have an HP a545c box available, but would like to save that for running W$ for a user, unless I'm really out of options. It has a WD hard drive that is really goofy to get setup, at least in W$.
I also got ahold of a buddy who has a PII 333 which, according to some of the threads I have seen, may work OK and would be a good box for up to 15 users. I should be getting it later tonight. I think I'll start with that.
