Hey burnat,
this was an excellent idea! {clap,clap,clap}
Here are a couple that appear to be functioning on my test box:
e-smith-phpmyadmin-2.6.0-13.SME7.noarch.rpm
e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-06.noarch.rpm
e-smith-phpsysinfo-public-2.3-1.noarch.rpm
Test at your own risk, LOL!

Joe

EDIT: e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-06.noarch.rpm does not appear to be fully functional.

Hello Joe,
"e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-06.noarch.rpm"
Could you check if you have mail transport (qmail and smtpfront-qmail) unckecked by default?  This is what is happening for me, but I know that qmail is working....[Note: no smtpfront-qmail logs, so maybe its not there is SME7?]
Thanks, chris.

PS: I am going to miss sysmonitor and durep...

Hey chris,
you are correct. The e-smith-service-control-1.1.0-06.noarch.rpm does not appear to function for smtpfront-qmail service. If I check the box and save it will be unchecked the next time.

I will edit my previous post to reflect this.

Correct - smtpfront-qmail has been replaced by qpsmtpd in SME7.

Thank you Gordon for confirmation about smtpfront-qmail

Two more contribs for the list:
e-smith-dhcpmanager-1.3-4.noarch.rpm  - installed Ok but not functional (cannot restart dhcpd).

e-smith-esi-lanlord-1.0.2-02.noarch.rpm – installed OK but not functional (does not show leases).

VERSION 7 alpha21 Update: All contribs listed in previous posts appear to be OK. With version 7 charging like a steam train (...and really looking great!), it may be useful for  others to start testing their favourite contribs, and add to the list. Just a suggestion.  In this way, we will know what is available "off the shelf" so to speak, and what need fixing.

Rather than have this thread grow and grow, and then disappear in the mists of time, it would be better if a Wiki page were created, and users/testers can add or update information as it emerges from testing.

Thanks

Greg has already opened this wiki page:
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/SME7Contribs

which should be used instead.

(You already deleted your page, as I see)

And please go to the wiki page again and update those records. Most of those records indicate testing against 7.0alpha20, which was based on CentOS 3. 7.0beta is now based on CentOS 4, so the status is quite likely to have changed.

Charlie, I was told in the next post to delete my wiki page as another had already been started by Greg.  I moved what was on my page Gregs and deleted mine.  I forgot to remove the link and it seems that others have posted more on that page since then so I will do the following:

1-Move pertinant information to Gregs page.
2-Clear my page once again
3-Delete the link to my cleared page so others won't go there any more.

P.S. Charlie, please remove the link to my deleted wiki page in your post so that others don't go there anymore and start a new page again.   Thanks!

I have tested swerts-knudsen awstats contrib to sme 7b4. It did not work.

http://sme.swerts-knudsen.com/index.html?frame=http%3A//sme.swerts-knudsen.com/howtos/howto_7.htm

I have a workaround though and emailed this to him of course:

install the contrib. Then adjust it:

cd /home/e-smith/files/ibays/awstats/cgi-bin
in awstats_update.pl
change domains line, add /db
$domains = "/home/e-smith/db/domains";
change www.$users[0] in $users[0]

run ./awstats_update.pl

goto ../html

change
index.html

<a href=//cgi-bin/awstats.pl?-config=yoursite.nl> yoursite.nl <br>
into
<a href=/../cgi-bin/awstats.pl?-config=yoursite.nl> yoursite.nl
<br>

and it works.

make domain wwwstats.nl
point it to ibay awstats with only access internal
put in hostfile:
wwwstats.nl youripaddress

goto
http://wwwstats.nl/
enjoy.

Hi,

I want to set up and run a Quake 4 Dedicated gameserver on my SME 7.0rc1

For this I need usershell access, as I don’t want the Quake 4 Server to be run by root.

I’ve downloaded e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5.noarch.rpm from http://www2.cddc.vt.edu/linux/distributions/smeserver/index.php?subdir=contribs%2Fdungog%2Ffiles%2Fsme7&sortby=date

But trying to install the contrib I get the following error:

[root@server sme_7.x]# rpm -ivh e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5.noarch.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]

file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/rssh.conf from install of e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5 conflicts with file from package e-smith-openssh-1.12.0-01

Any suggestions?

That is a very old contrib, you might want to contact the author and have them update that page.  Try here and see if anything might help you.

The rpm you have tried to install was "vald" in the days of  sme7.0 alpha20.
Try smeserver-remoteuseraccess.noarch        1.0-10                 dungog
Can be installed with yum, check http://www.dungog.net/sme/repo.php
