This morning after an automatic update using the
Swerts-Knudsen version, Clam AV isn't working.
Here's the update message:
The following updates were downloaded and installed:
- clamav-es-0.86-es01.i386.rpm
- clamav-es-libs-0.86-es01.i386.rpm
regards,
The Automatic Clam Antivirus updater
I also got this (probably related):
Shutting down clamd: [ OK ]
##################################################
#####error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/lib/libclamav.so.1.0.14;42b7a061: cpio: read
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/bin/clamscan;42b7a061: cpio: read failed - Bad file descriptor
Starting clamd: clamd: error while loading shared libraries: libclamav.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[ FAILED ]
Now I'm getting this when Clam tries to update:
/usr/bin/freshclam: error while loading shared libraries: libclamav.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
All incoming mail is put into the problems folder.

I downloaded the two rpms and installed them manually. Things appear to be better now.

SoundSailor, check this thread out:

You're not the only one affected, nor is the problem limited to ClamAV.
For now, recommend setting both SpamAssassin and ClamAV updates to "download and warn" instead of "download and install."

This will reinstall clamav
using putty or teminal
log into your server root
mkdir clamav
cd clamav
issue this command
wget http://sme.swerts-knudsen.com/downloads/AntiVirus/antivirus_install.sh
once downloaded issue this command
sh antivirus_install.sh
follow instructions as they appear on screen
to be on the safe side open you http://your-server-name/server-manager go to antivirus page and click on save at the bottom of page and this will restart clamav

Thanks stiperstones.
That's how I installed in the first place. The issue had to do with the automatic updates. I suspect that Jesper's site had its bandwidth saturated when everyone tried to automatically update at once. That caused my download to time out and thus the errors. Perhaps we need to find a way to disperse the timing of automatic updates so we don't get this kind of overload. Or a mirror?

yes might be an idea to contact knuddi to make a small change to the server panel as we can choose our own time to install updates.

All incoming mail is put into the problems folder.
How do I get the mail out of the problems folder and delivered to users ?
Thanks,
William.

I may of just found my answer in the antivirus control panel.
If I select deliver all, do they still pass through the spamfilter and procmail?
Regards,
William.
--EDIT--
Just tried it with a few emails and yes they do go through the filters etc. Now to do the whole lot.
--EDIT--
--EDIT--
Done the lot. They didn't go through the spamfilter but were delivered to the correct folders except junkmail.
--EDIT--
All incoming mail is put into the problems folder.
How do I get the mail out of the problems folder and delivered to users ?
Thanks,
William.
