Post by: felvin on June 23, 2005, 11:42:37 AM
I have installed an SME box running as firewall/gateway. I have also windows 2003 acting as IIS server and DNS in my internal network. Now i want my SME server recognize my Windows 2003 DNS server because my SME server also acting as DNS server itself. I dunno where to configure it because i did not find any option in server-manager. Anyone, can help or suggest on what to do ? I needed it badly. Thnx!

Thanks Ray!
I already did create a domains and also entry in my hostname and addresses. What I wanted that my Windows 2003 server act as a DNS not my SME. Here is the scenario on what I wanted to happen :  I am hosting two different sites www.primary.com.ph and www.pipc.com.ph also my web mail which is an inotes tru mail.primary.com.ph. The wwww's using port 80 and my mail using port 8080. The two website hosted by my windows 2003 server running on IIS. I have also domain controller which act as a DNS. Internally we can resolve the two www's but not outside.I already registered both domains in public domain registry and pointed with one public IP which is also my public IP in my SME box. i already create port forwarding to my IIS and Inotes but still my SME cannot resolve the two sites if i access the sites outside my network. I did create reverse proxy but the problem I cannot point my two www's to my IIS server because, it cannot resolve the two www's which is on IIS server with different host header value pointing to 1 IP add(My IIS IP add). Hope you can help or suggest Ray thnx a lot!

Can't you read !

login as admin
select Configure this server and step through the screens.

You want more information in order to be convinced !!!

You configure sme to be a DNS server or point it to another server for DNS using the Configure this server menu !

Step through the screens and you will see the appropriate page.
