Title: btbroadband + smtpauth + 6.0.01
Post by: tbcomputing on June 27, 2005, 11:02:53 PM
I use my ISP's maiserver, and pay for a mail account sop that I can get around the dynmamic dns address I use and send outgoing mail.

BTbroadband have implemented SMTP authorisation.

I have done

http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/OutboundSMTPAuth

as per the instructions, and can see the contents of the file which it tells me to check./

But my mails are still being rejected

Connected to 217.12.12.124 but sender was rejected.
Remote host said: 530 authentication required - Your email could not be sent. To fix this you must make a simple change to your email (known as SMTP authentication). For advice visit www.btyahoo.com/smtp or call 0800 328 9968

Since I know that it will be futile seeking help there, anyone here care to make any helpful suggestions.

TIA

Tony
