Title: 6.5Rc1 hanging after Bootmanager
Post by: julians on July 11, 2005, 12:03:57 PM
Hey ppl,

i have downloaded the smeserver-6.5RC1-i386.iso and installed it on my Thin Client (i put a 40 gb Hdd in)
Some Technical details about the client:

- IGEL J Thin Client
- 334 Mhz AMD k6
- 64 MB RAM
- 2,5 Zoll 40 GB IDE Toshiba HDD
- Motherboard unknow type

After booting and selecting the boot method on lilo it hangs with only this mesage:
Loading ****** (what ever) ..............

While the installation i saw some strange errors on the logging console like:
Cant mount /proc
Cant mount /
.
.

Is that maybe the error?

I already installed debian sarge sucessfully on it (with kernel 2.6.8)
Yesterday I chrooted from a knoppix CD tho the HDD and all looks fine.
Any other with the same problem?
Any recomendations?

regards

J

Try 7.0alpha24 - *much* newer kernel support. If you find problems, please report them to the bug tracker at http://smeserver.sourceforge.net/.
