Title: Dungog's GPL backup-rsync - help please?
Post by: Ness on July 11, 2005, 12:07:33 PM
Second attempt to get advice please.

The documentation at dungog is not enough to help me to install the suite of RPMs at http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/backup-rsync/ so I can perform full or partial backups to a secondary server.

Using SME 6.0.1 as my test server, I have all of the rpms and usbtree.sh on my server, I have installed the rpms (not done anything with the usbtree.sh).

I see no dungog.net panel entry and cannot progress.

Can anyone help please?

Chris

You only have the GPL portion of the back-up utility.  The server-manager panel portion is not GPL and you have to pay for it.

Search further for a "manual" way of doing this without a manager panel.  It is a bit complex but AFAIK, it can be done.

Good luck,

Paul

Thanks Paul.

I'll take a look at that and see what I find.

I'd prefer server-manager to do this - I hate command line stuff with a vengeance. As long as the fee isn't outrageous and I see value for money, I'll go for it.

Cheers
