Title: Windows Update errors behind sme?
Post by: nate on July 14, 2005, 08:46:13 PM
Trying to patch Win2k workstations that are behind a 6.0.1 box w/smeplus.
I get errors and not all of the updates install.  However, if I give the workstation
a hard address out in the open, all the updates install just fine.
Of course makes it is impossible to maintain remote machines and
highly impractical to maintain local machines.

Does anyone have an answer to this issue? :hammer:

Title: thank you

Thank you, but with all due respect, I wouldn’t dare post a question to this forum unless I have already thoroughly searched the forums, lists and Googled for the information.  I have found talk about the subject, but no straightforward (or otherwise) answers.  However, I will keep searching and trying things myself.  If I discover a definitive answer I will of course share in with the community.

Nate,

Sorry for the late reply, but i don't come here too often.  I had some spare time today :)

I use SME 6.01 here with 25pc's (4 are win2k) and they connect to windows update just fine.  I did have some issues with windowsupdate not caching, but a quick google found some refresh_pattern tweaks that i have since included.

If you need some more info, shoot me a message and i'll reply.

KegRaider.
